Revolving Closet

Kennett Middle School students were looking for a way to give back to their community in a meaningful way by donating to a local organization that supports the people in their very own community.

As part of the Kennett Middle School Spring Spirit Week, students hosted a fundraising event for The Revolving Closet, a non-profit store headed by Emily Smith-Mossman, which provides clothes, toiletries, schools supplies, and more to the local teens in the Mount Washington area.

Since The Revolving Closet is a donation based organization, the students felt compelled to raise as many items as possible. Kennett Middle School students and staff came together to raise over 350 toiletries to donate within a week’s time. Not only was this a great way for students to get involved and support their community, it was an opportunity for students to develop key organizational, citizenship, and responsibility skills all while demonstrating respect for themselves, each other, and the population they were serving.
